For sale is a nice floral deep or soup plate made by Royal Vienna in the 18th century before they started using the date codes in the 1780s. The piece is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement in the well of the plate with three smaller flowers and two leaves filling in the rest of the space. The rim has a nice basket weave relief design to it with four more flowers over that and a brown trim to the edge. What is interesting regarding this piece is that it came in a set of eight plates all of which were painted by a different painter working for them so you can compare their styles and use of colors. Quite neat! I am listing them all separately. The painter in this case here is a bit odd. I have had a piece with this mark before that looks like JJ but since they used only numbers it.
