It is bootable, I just erased the disc, all you need is to install sierra or El capitan. I use an HDMI cord for external screen.The ribbon cable connection betweem the screen and the CPU is either lose or old. I was going to try to open it up to replace it, but man, until I found out from utube this macbook is a lot of work to replace that ribbon. Selling this as is, with a beatenup charger.
