it has been tested. it works. it's a VHS to DVD recorder. The DVD picture side works great. the VHS side might need a little bit of a cleaning. The recording element works just fine, but the picture if you're trying to use it as a VCR is a little fuzzy as seen in the pictures. it comes with the remote and all the manuals you need for it
