Fine quality white oak from Germany that has been vacuum dried and pressure treated with the smoked/fuming process to produce a dark color that runs thru the wood. I believe the process involves vacuum drying the wood and then introducing ammonia under pressure that causes a chemical reaction to turn the lumber dark all the way through, then drying again.
