Quartz crystallised from silica-rich fluids circulating through fractures within the host rock, forming open cavities that allowed free crystal growth. Tetrahedrite, a copper–antimony sulphosalt, developed under sulphide-rich conditions either contemporaneously with or slightly later than the quartz, often crystallising in close spatial association.
