Shrub or subshrub, 0.5–1.5 m tall. Leaves opposite; blades ovate to elliptic-lanceolate, scabrid above, pubescent to tomentose beneath. Flowers in axillary heads. Honeybees were seen collecting nectar from the flowers. The fruit and leaves are edible.
