This map was published as #37 in the Report of the Superintendent of the Coast Survey showing the progress made in the survey for the year 1854, then under the supervision of A. D. Bache. The map sketches the coast from Texas to Alabama, with a fair amount of detail of inland areas, naming features such as lakes, inlets, rivers, islands, bays, etc., and a nice representation of New Orleans, Algiers, and the Delta of the Mississippi.
