At one end it has a chain which can be used to attach the pen to a keyring, fob, pencil case, handbag, etc. The barrel of the pen is made with marbled aqua green plastic or Bakelite. To use the pen pulls out of the case and fits back into the opening; reverse the action to close the pen away when not in use.
