With the Universal cheek this bit can be used as a snaffle with the rein on the middle ring, use poll pressure with the rein on the bottom ring helping the head raising action, or it can be used with double reins if needed, also a curb strap can be used, attaching to the top ring to introduce curb pressure and more breaks.
