Guduchi (Giloy) is an herbaceous vine of the family Menispermaceae indigenous to tropical regions of the Indian subcontinent.It is considered to be one of the three Amrit plants and generally is known by the common names heart-leaved moonseed, guduchi, and giloy. Giloy is a herb that provides multiple essential minerals, such as iron, copper, manganese, calcium, zinc, and phosphorus. It has heart-shaped leaves that resemble betel leaves. This large climber grows in higher altitudes, typically having greenish-yellow flowers that bloom through summers and winters. The plant has simple, alternating leaves, which are often used to prepare a tonic tea. The taste of the extract is bitter sweet with no distinct flavour.
