B and V in the center were the senior assayers at the Segovia mint in Spain. B represented Bernardo de Pedrera and the V represented Ventura de Morales. It is heavier than most 4 Maravedis as it weighs 10.1 grams which is equivalent to most 8 Maravedis and makes it even more rare and unusual.
