Cabeza de Giambologna Zephyr, ahora pisapapeles.

A fascinating Grand Tour fragment, now a paperweight. This once held Giambologna's Winged Mercury aloft on a column of air. Apart from this young Zephyr there is a similar adult, Triton blowing a horn, The Bagpiper, a marble Putto in Il Duomo in Lucca, along with an abundance of putti adorning fountains and plinths around Florence all with similar hair, optic and nasal features. This child Zephyr face bears a striking resemblance to Giambologna's self-portrait statue in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
