Columbia Records knew the importance of this entity and soon honored their favorite sons with their own best of album aptly titled The Byrds Greatest Hits. In 1964, the nucleus of The Byrds consisted as a folk trio of Jim McGuinn (Roger McGuinn), David Crosby and Gene Clark, known as the Jet Set.
