Long thought lost, the original tapes were rediscovered by Peake himself and painstakingly restored, revealing the raw, experimental and deeply unsettling sound world he created for the film. Combining acoustic instrumentation with early electronic textures — including the infamous Blaster Beam — the score was recorded entirely live with no overdubs, using everything from custom‑built devices to bone necklaces worn by the film’s actors as percussion.
